Marcus Rashford has made a dramatic move to Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season after his time at Manchester United soured under manager Ruben Amorim.
“I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me, but Aston Villa was an easy decision,” Rashford shared on Instagram. “I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season and the manager’s ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.”
The 27-year-old forward, who enjoyed a standout season in 2022-23 with 30 goals, had been sidelined since December due to concerns over his commitment to training.
United’s manager Amorim had previously remarked, “If things don’t change, I will not change,” criticizing Rashford’s work ethic.
Rashford, who made 426 appearances and scored 138 goals for Manchester United, will now seek a fresh start at Villa Park, where he hopes to prove his worth and rediscover his best form.
