Over the past 16 years, he has inspired a love for Mathematics in his students through both in-person and online lectures, including his YouTube channel. In this interview with DAYO EMMANUEL, he shares his journey and discusses the factors that lead Mathematics graduates to pursue careers outside of invention and problem-solving in the tech industry. He however believes if the Nigerian government creates enabling environment for Mathematics graduates, inventors can emerge from among them to patent problem solving products to benefit the society.

How has your passion for chess influenced your teaching methods?

My passion for chess has significantly influence my teaching method in several ways:

One of the most memorable successes in my 16 years of teaching came from a
student named Chinedu. Chinedu had always struggled with mathematics and
lacked confidence in his abilities. He often felt overwhelmed by the subject and was
on the verge of giving up.
Recognizing his potential, I took a personalized approach to support his learning
journey. I spent extra time with Chinedu, breaking down concepts into manageable
parts and providing clear explanations tailored to her learning style. I encouraged
him to see mathematics not as a daunting challenge, but as a series of puzzles
waiting to be solved.
