The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called on Nigerians to embrace a renewed sense of patriotism, unity and shared responsibility in building a stronger nation.

Soludo, founder of Healthy Living Initiative, made the call in a message on Wednesday in Awka, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary

She congratulated Nigerians on the anniversary and emphasised that the journey to true nationhood requires a collective vision and national ambition.

“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! Our journey to complete nationhood is one that demands a collective vision and ambition.

“Nigeria is a great and blessed nation. I encourage citizens to take ownership of the country’s development because meaningful progress lies in the hands of its people.

“It takes you and I to make it even better than it already is. No one can do that for us.

“We have no other home, and despite the hiccups, this is still the only place we have to embrace and feel truly accommodated,” she said.

Soludo urged Nigerians to look beyond current challenges and recognize the deep potential that lies within the country’s diversity and historical richness.

“God has blessed this country beyond what the eyes can see. We only have to find strength around our diversity and rich history.

“I believe that Nigeria is still bound for greater heights. I still believe that our dear Nation has a lot more to give,” she said.

Soludo expressed pride in her identity as a Nigerian and encouraged others to do the same, calling on citizens to make personal sacrifices for the greater good.

“Be a proud Nigerian. Give up what you have to for the betterment of this great country. There is a reason God has made you a Nigerian,” she said.
