Ànnaba, (Algeria) — Coach, Adebayo Abullahi Bukola of the 3×3 Basketball, whose team won a silver medal in an event that ended in Ànnaba on Monday at the Chappi Beach, has pledged to offer massive moral support to the other teams still in the competition.

The competition was in the maiden Africa School Games, held at four different cities in Algeria
.
The centres are: Ànnaba, Constantine, Skida and Setif.

”My team and I were massively supported, and we ended our run winning a silver medal

”Now that we have ended our run, we shall return the favours to the rest of the teams,” he vowed.

I am sad we lost narrowly to our last opponents from Rwanda, 11-10, mainly due to bad officiating, but I am happy we were not disgraced and will be going home with a silver medal.

My team faced bad match handling from an Algerian referee, who did not hide her contempt for the Nigerian side.

However, the Nigerian side had lost to them during an earlier preliminary round. The Rwandans approached their second against us with more confidence and won the Gold medal.

Meanwhile, ANOCA president, Mustafa Berraf, presented the gold medals to Rwanda and Nigeria’s Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, as Treasure-General, presented the Silver medal to the Nigerian team.

Gumel also doubles as Nigeria’s lone Member of the IOC and the Nigerian Olympic Committee.

In a related development, Nigeria also won a silver medal in another badminton event.
