President Tinubu, as the Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, also holds the esteemed position of Grand Patron of the NOC.

Hon. Omidiran has strong ties with the Olympic community as a dedicated member of the NOC Board of Trustees.

In a statement conveying the NOC’s enthusiastic response, President Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel, the distinguished Nigerian member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), expressed profound joy and satisfaction upon receiving news of the appointment.

The statement read: “It was with great joy and gladness that we received the news of your appointment as the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

Your appointment is undoubtedly an open acknowledgement of your meritorious experience in the public sector, both as a distinguished former member of the National Assembly and now in the Olympic Movement.
