NSCDC decorates 50 newly-promoted officers in Ebonyi

Abakaliki, Nigeria – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ebonyi Command, on Thursday decorated 50 newly- promoted senior officers.

Some of the officers elevated include; eight (8) Assistant Commandant Corp (ACC), promoted to Deputy Commandant Corp (DCC), 12 Chief Superintendents to Assistant Superintendents Corp (ASC), among others, after passing their 2024 promotion exams.

The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Elijah Willie, charged the 50 newly-promoted officers of the command to justify their promotion by being more committed and diligent to duty.

Willie gave the advice on Thursday at the decoration ceremony of the personnel in Abakaliki.

The Commandant urged the officers to always uphold good qualities and humanity while discharging their duty.

“I urge you, the officers to continue to drive the ethical standards of the corps. And as you grow up in the system, don’t dig pit for people to fall,” Willie added.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mrs Anthonia Uche-Anya, represented by her Deputy, in charge of administration, Mohummed Alhaji, congratulated the officers, stating that “to whom much is given much is expected”.

Mr Gabriel Olude, Director, State Security Service in the state urged the officers to reciprocate their promotion to service.

Olude, represented by Ademola Olujide, Deputy Director, Intelligent Service commended the state commandant for improving their promotion and the state command.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Henry Igwe, stressed the need for them to raise the bar in the discharge of their duties.

In their remarks, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr Peter Ogah, and Mrs Rose Owuna, the Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service, State Command, while congratulating the officers promoted, urged them to remain focused.

“Those promoted should know that “reward for hardwork is more work” and for others who were not promoted to see it as an “act” of God,” they added.

Mr Kingsley Emeonye, on behalf of the newly-promoted officers, commended the federal government for organising the promotion exams and opportunities given to be elevated.

Emeonye assured total commitment to duty, saying “Our loyalty and dedication to duty is hundred per cents.”

The event featured Chief security officers in the state and others represented.
