The stakeholders took the decision during a massively attended meeting held at the council headquarters Iboko,.and comprised traditional rulers, political stalwarts, opinion leaders, community heads , youths, women groups among others.

The Chairman of the council, Chief Emenike Nwankpa, said the people took the decision to show a unified resolve to appreciate the governor’s purposeful leadership, which has impacted on the area and entire state.

“This followed broad consultations across the 18 autonomous communities in the council as we realise and believe that power resides with the people.

“The meeting produced a unanimous endorsement of the governor, as his glowing feats in all sectors of the state’s existence, speaks intense volume.”

Nwankpa urged the opposition to shelve plans of contesting the position with the governor in 2027 and join hands with him to develop the state with continuation of his good works.

“The governor has set an endearing benchmark for overall development of the state and should be supported, having unified the state wholistically.”

“We also have firm belief in the ability of Mrs Hellen Aduga whom we have endorsed as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for the August 2026 Local Government Area election,.”

The Former Senator representing Ebonyi North Zone at the Senate, Chief Chris Nwankwo, described Nwifuru’s endorsement as timely and strategic, urging the people to support the governor in continued delivery of democratic dividends.

“Democracy is fundamentally a game of numbers and we must take advantage of that.”

A Prominent Stakeholder in the Council and Former Chairman of the Revenue Allocation Mobilisation Fiscal Allocation Commission (RAMFAC) , Chief Elias Mbam commended the governor for his good works and urged him not be distracted.

Mbam who contested the APC gubernatorial primaries with Nwifuru in 2023, urged the people to support their son to bring more development to the area and entire state.
