
he National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ebonyi has urged corps members to explore opportunities provided by the Federal Government sponsored Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA) initiative
The NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Maidariya Malgwi gave the charge at its Permanent Orientation Camp, Afikpo during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Batch B, Stream 1 orientation course.
Malgwi said the programme was designed to equip young Nigerians with relevant digital, vocational, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
“I urge you to leverage the opportunities offered through the youth academy initiative alongside the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Development ((SAED) programme.
“The programmes would prepare you for a future of innovation, productivity and economic empowerment,”
The NYSC state coordinator noted that the event was not merely the end of the orientation course but a beginning of a noble journey of service and nation–building.

“You have over the orientation programme, displayed commendable discipline, resilence, patriotism and strong commitment to the ideals upon which the corps was founded.
“”You embraced the rigourous activities and conducted yourselves in a manner worthy of ambassadors of our great nation.
“I congatulate you for a successful orientation programme and wish you success in your service year.”
She thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for his love and support to the scheme, attributing such to the numerous strides recorded by the corps in the state.
“The governor has created a condusive atmosphere which ensures the security and success of corps members.
“This is in tandem
with the corps belief in the growth, development and success of the youths,” she said.
Mr Clinton Obeh, A corps member commended the NYSC management for a successful orientation course, pledging to practicalise the knowledge garnered during the exercise.
“I had the mindset of seeking government–paid employment after my NYSC programme but with the entrepreneurial skills I gained during the course, I am better informed ,”
