
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state on Tuesday, said that his administration is happy with corps members’ lofty contributions to nation-building which proves that Nigerians’ hope on them are not misplaced
Fubara made the declaration at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area (LGA) during the closing ceremony of 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation course for corps members deployed to the state.
The governor represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Samson Dede,, charged the corps members to be patriotic and exemplary in making positive impacts in their host communities.
“I advise you to equip yourselves with relevant skills by maximising opportunities presented by the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
“This is to build the capacity and competence which will make you relevant to compete favorably in the economic marketplace.
“I further urge you to see Rivers state as your home and take advantage of the hospitality and accommodating aura of the people,”.

The Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe commended the corps members for their active participation in all camp programmes and activities.
Oleghe noted that high profile visitors to the camp, including Hon Martins Etim Esin, Chairman, Youth Development Committee of the House of Representatives and Chief Emeka Mgbemena, Director Media, NYSC spoke highly of them.
“They posited that you will be of maximum positive impact in the life of the nation.
“I thank security agencies for providing top-notch security in and around the camp as well as the Executive Chairmen of Tai and Ahoada East LGAs, for their consistent interests in the success of the NYSC in the state.
A total of 3, 517 corps members made up of 1,574 males and 1, 943 females successfully completed the 3-week orientation course in Rivers state.
