The police command in Lagos State has confirmed that three persons were killed on Wednesday night by yet to be identified gunmen at Gowon Estate, Ipaja area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP. Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said the incident happened at about 11.35 p.m.

According to him, the Gowon Estate police division received a call from the Naval Block of the estate that some people were shot by unknown gunmen at the junction of 41 Road by the Union Bank block in the estate.

Hundeyin said that two patrol teams were immediately moved to the scene, adding that at the scene, the police officers were told that the victims have been taken to the Igando General Hospital.

“While at the scene of shooting, the police recovered nine espended cartridges and  bounch of keys.

“At the Igando General Hospital, one unknown male corpse was recovered and evacuated to  the Mainland General Hospital, Yaba for preservation and autopsy.

 “Further information to the police revealed that two male corpses were taken away by their families.

”One male survival-Doba Ngoze, currently on admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba,” he said.

 The spokesperson said that investigation was in progress on the case.

Meanwhile, 108scoop.com gathered from sources that the perpetrators of the dastardly act left the scene with an unmarked vehicle.

They claimed that it was not long before one of the victims was called by another friend to step down from the Union Bank block that several gunshots were hard.

They said the sudden incident forced shop owners at the popular 41 Road/411 Road junction to close up buinesses, as passersby and residents ran for safety.
