Religious organisation calls for an end to nude reality TV shows in Nigeria

A Christian-based organisation, Xtreme Search Reality TV Show, a subsidiary of Psalmist Missionary Global Outreach has called for end to nude reality TV shows in Nigeria.

Evangelist Chuka Abuoma, the President of the organisation , told Newsmen in Lagos, on Monday, that the organisation has embarked on rigorous campaign to sensitised Nigerians against nude reality TV shows.

According to Abuoma, protecting the moral fabric of the nation is very important in securing a safer society.

He stated that concerns are rising on the nation’s moral fabric.

“A growing campaign against nude reality TV shows highlights the potential threat the program pose to the country’s economic, political, educational, and health sectors.

“The campaign argues that exposing Nigerian youths to explicit content can lead to: defilement of our moral conscience.

“Degradation in self esteem and confidence, Weakening of our self will against immoral acts and sexual perversions.

“Sexual harassment and exploitation, Moral decadence and spiritual apath, Negative influences on the nation’s future leaders” he said.

The president of the group however urged media regulatory bodies to enforce stricter content guidelines and producers to prioritize responsible programming.and viewers should demand better entertainment options.

He called on every Nigerians to join the move to protect Nigeria’s moral conscience and ensure a brighter future for our youths.

He said one of the biggest challenge facing the campaign was funding and support.

He appealed to good-spirited individuals, organisations and the churches to amplify the message to drive meaningful change.

Abuoma said financial support would also push the campaign to policy makers and industry stakeholders.

He said it would also promote positive entertainment alternatives.

He stated that the organisation has staged the campaign at
National Stadium, Living Faith (Winners Chapel) Headquarters at Ota, Ogun. ,Badagry Beach ,

Other venues, according to him, that the campaign has been staged are Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church,
City of Light Worship Center, Ikotun,
Ikotun Market and
Scripture Union Nigeria, all in Lagos state.
