Hon. Chukwudi Okparaku, the Peoples’ Redemption Party (PRP) candidate for the House of Representative, Alimosho Federal Constituency, says his mission in politics is to touch lives in his immediate constituency and contribute to redeeming the nation.

Okparaku, who spoke in an interview on Monday in Lagos, said that the country and Alimosho Federal Constituency needed new leadership template for enhanced growth and development.

He said: “My people are not seeing the dividends of democracy and we cannot continue to sit on the fence and complain.

“I have listened to the cries of my people and I have offered myself to serve to show leadership,” Okparaku”.

The House of Representative hopeful said that he decided to contest under the platform of the PRP because of its credibility and solid foundation having been founded by one of the great minds in Northern Nigeria, Malam Aminu Kanu.

He said that the mission of redemption espoused by the PRP was about putting the round peg in a round hole.

Okparaku said that the party, through him, was prepared to change the face of education and healthcare in Alimosho Federal Constituency.

He said that considering the size of Alimosho, the numbers of healthcare facilities available were grossly inadequate for its population.

”It is sad to note that the entire constituency lack adequate ambulance service to carter for emergency situations.

“We are on a mission to provide one ambulance service per two communities.

“If we are voted into power, we will increase the number of primary heathcare in Alimosho and make sure that qualified nurses and doctors are deployed to provide healthcare for the residents.

“We have a goal to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the constituency and provide quality public schools for the constituency.

“We will provide quality link roads for the people of the constituency,” Okparaku said.

Okparaku said as a community leader had carried out strong impactful services that would make his people trust him with their votes.

The PRP candidate said that the party had a plan to empower youths within the constituency and change their orientation toward work.

He said that the party was ready to create vocational centers for youths, widows and single mothers in the constituency to lift them out of poverty.

“Those youths who have good business proposals would be empowered with seed money and capacity building to enable them start their own business.

“As we speak, I have many widows under my payroll. When we come to power, we intend to build hostels of about 80-room to give our widows soft landing,” Okparaku said.

He noted that the party had carried out voter education to sensitise the electorate on the need to perform their civic responsibility.
