Why Mushin to the World inducts 4 new volunteers

Lagos, Feb.11, 2023: Mushin To The World (MTTW), an environmental NGO, has explained why it adopted four new volunteers as part of its annual operational plan to strengthen its capacity to discharge its duties effectively to the environment.

Mr Babatunde Enitan, Founder/Executive Director, MTTW, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Friday in Lagos.

In his address of welcome,  at an event to induct the volunteers, Enitan emphasized  the mission and vision of the organization.

Mr Olukayode Enitan (SAN), Chairman, MTTW, told the volunteers that their decision  was necessary to change the narrative of the NGO.

The chairman reminded them that they have now become part of a team that would transform the mission and vision of Mushin To The World.

Various speakers at the event anchored on the need for team building as the hallmark of any progressive organization.

Mr Segun Awosanya advised the volunteers to be responsible change agents, working within the limits of their human capacity.

Amb. Daniel Olabitan, said that effective communication was needed as a strategy to build team spirit.

Olabitan underscored the importance of  effective communication  in working as a team, and in various relationships and partnerships for the effective delivery of the goal of MTTW.

Also speaking, Mr Anthony Adedeji, Co-founder and Board member of MushinToTheWorld foundation said that the foundation  has a  mission is to transform lives positively.

He said that the foundation develops local communities and change our world through Education, Empowerment, Environmental Sustainability, Peace and Social Justice, in order to achieve a civilized, sustainable and Inclusive community by 2050.

According to him, MushinToTheWorld is where people come together to develop innovative solutions to existing problems in our community by Thinking Globally and Building Locally.

Below are profiles of the volunteers:

Ogunsanya  Akanbi

He is a Graduate scholar in marine biology whose research experience focused on the contamination of the aquatic environment either by natural or anthropogenic activities, bio-accumulation of contaminants in aquatic organisms, and their impact on man.

He received an award for the most impactful student in the department of marine sciences due to his voluntary service and outstanding efforts to teach and assist students and colleagues in achieving their set goals.

He also has an interest in comprehensive studies of oceanography and ocean climate interactions.

Joy Amuche

She is a content writer and social media manager with a strong interest in  technology, continual personal development and actualization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

She currently uses her excellent writing and social media management skills to volunteer with NGOs that promotes quality education, climate change and biodiversity.

She is an undergraduate student of Computer Science at the National Open University of Nigeria. 

Emmanuel Olobaniyi

Olobaniyi is a graduate who believes in learning and he is fascinated by it.

 He said he would love to add value to a world where a hand full of people have given up, in a place that empathy has lost it’s say and is no longer seen as a strength.

He believes that the pace of success is not always defined by speed, neither is a way created by mere destruction , but a process driven mindset, a responsibility and accountability mindset which are all at the core of the longevity of success.

He says he has a vision to impact positively on mankind and to restore hope to the downtrodden

Abimbola Abikoye

Abikoye comes with a lot of experience as a founder of a non-profit organization. she started by

She gave us three important dos’ and don’ts: 

Don’t wait for anybody

Don’t take decisions without your team

Don’t deviate, be consistent.

Abikoye says that there are privileges in volunteering that far out ways the pains and struggles that comes with its responsibilities.

She says that it might not be a smooth ride but the journey will be enjoyable and filled with stories of our impact from MUSHIN to the WORLD.
