The newly inaugurated Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal in Umuahia stands as another major milestone in Abia State’s drive to modernise transportation and urban infrastructure.
This is not the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) in New York, the iconic transport hub located at 625 8th Avenue in Manhattan and widely known as the world’s busiest bus station.
However, I am standing inside the newly inaugurated Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, Abia State. While the facility may not yet match the size and traffic of New York’s famous terminal, it marks a significant step in Abia’s journey towards modern and efficient public transportation.
Furthermore, the terminal highlights the transformation agenda of Governor Alex Otti. His administration continues to invest in critical infrastructure projects aimed at improving transportation, boosting economic activity, and renewing urban centres across the state.

Meanwhile, residents are witnessing visible changes in different parts of Abia. From road construction to urban renewal projects, the government continues to reshape the state’s landscape through strategic development initiatives.
Consequently, the Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal stands as more than just a transport facility. It reflects a broader vision to position Abia as a modern, connected, and economically vibrant state, with development reaching communities one project at a time.
