A Ghanaian witch doctor who claimed he placed a curse on Harry Kane before England’s World Cup clash with Ghana says he has now removed the alleged jinx.
Witch Doctor Revisits Kane Curse Claim
Nana Kwaku Bonsam attracted attention before Tuesday’s match after claiming he had been “working on” a curse to stop Kane from scoring.
The self-styled spiritualist said his powers come from the Kofi Oo Kofi shrine. He also described himself as “Africa’s only Authentic Man.”
Meanwhile, England struggled to break down Ghana’s disciplined defence throughout the game in Boston.
Kane Misses Late Chance
However, Kane came close to scoring in the closing stages of the match.
The England captain found himself in a promising position but fired his effort over the bar. Consequently, the match ended in a goalless 0-0 draw.
The missed opportunity quickly reignited discussion around Bonsam’s earlier claims on social media.
Bonsam Says He Has Removed Jinx
Furthermore, Bonsam said he has now lifted the alleged curse placed on the England striker.
In a video posted on Facebook after the match, he claimed he would allow Kane to score in future games.
“I am the most powerful spiritualist in the whole world,” Bonsam said.
“Now, I am going to release Harry Kane so that, in his next match, he can score. Harry, I will come and visit you. Don’t be offended. We are friends.”
Attention Returns To Viral Claims
However, Bonsam’s remarks have continued to generate debate among football fans following England’s draw with Ghana.
While there is no evidence linking Kane’s missed chance to any spiritual claim, the incident has once again brought Bonsam’s comments into the spotlight.
