A Plateau State resident, Daniel Nnale, has narrated how gunmen killed his younger sister, Larai Danjuma, while she was in labour at a Primary Health Centre in Kawel community.
Woman Killed While Preparing To Give Birth
Nnale spoke during a condolence visit by the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo, to victims of the attack.
According to him, his sister was due for delivery and her family rushed her to the Primary Health Centre for medical care.
Meanwhile, health workers admitted her into the labour room to prepare for childbirth.
Gunmen Storm Health Facility
However, Nnale said gunmen later attacked the hospital and opened fire on people inside the facility.
He said the attackers killed his sister alongside other patients and health workers during the assault.
“My immediate sister was married to Mr. Danjuma Damial. She was taken to the hospital because she was due for delivery. Unfortunately, the attackers came and killed her,” he said.

Family Seeks Government Intervention
Furthermore, Nnale appealed to both the Plateau State Government and the Federal Government to take urgent action to stop similar attacks.
He urged authorities to improve security and protect vulnerable communities from further violence.
“I am appealing to the state government and the Federal Government to intervene,” he said.
Consequently, the incident has added to concerns over attacks on communities and public facilities in parts of Plateau State.
