
The kidnapped pupils and teachers from Orire, Oyo State, have regained their freedom after spending more than 50 days in captivity.
Bayo Onanuga, spokesman for the Presidency, announced the development in a post on X on Friday.
“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo, have been freed by their abductors,” Onanuga wrote.
Although, he did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding their release.
Security authorities have yet to issue additional information.
However, government officials are expected to provide more updates on the incident and the victims’ condition.
The pupils and teachers had remained in captivity for more than 50 days before they regained their freedom.
