The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and Sunshine School are enthusiastically preparing to co-host an insightful Sports Administration Course in the vibrant city of Ibadan, tailored explicitly for key sports stakeholders.

This collaborative effort between the Olympic Solidarity arm of the NOC, Dynaspro Sports, and the esteemed Sunshine School in Ibadan aims to empower Directors of Sports, Sports Officers, Heads of Sports Departments (HODs), astute Sports Marketers, and dedicated Games Masters with essential administrative skills.

In a statement made available to 108scoop.com by NOC’s Public Relations Officer, Tony Nezianya, notes that the immersive training programme is scheduled to take place at the premises of Sunshine School, located in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Participants are expected to arrive with anticipation on Monday, November 17, 2025, ready to engage in a week of learning and networking, with their departure scheduled for Friday, November 21, 2025.

This Sports Administration Course (SAC) serves as a crucial introductory platform for a diverse range of individuals vital to the sports ecosystem.

Elected officials and dedicated paid staff members from National Olympic Committees (NOCs), resourceful National Federations (NFs), proactive club managers, passionate physical education teachers, observant sports journalists, and other committed stakeholders actively involved in the multifaceted realm of sports development will benefit immensely from this initiative.

The curriculum of the SAC has been meticulously crafted, drawing upon the well-structured framework and comprehensive manual provided by Olympic Solidarity, the esteemed educational division of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The overarching aim of the course is to broaden participants’ understanding of the rich history and contemporary relevance of the Olympic Movement, the intricate organisation of the Olympic Games, and the critical principles underpinning the effective management of sports organisations.

Throughout the programme, participants will gain invaluable knowledge concerning the fundamental Olympic values, the essential principles of good governance within sporting bodies, and strategies for effective organisational management.

Ultimately, the knowledge and skills acquired are intended to bolster the support systems available to athletes, fostering an environment conducive to their success and well-being.

This significant initiative, a key component of the IOC’s global educational outreach, facilitated through Olympic Solidarity and championed by the Nigerian Olympic Committee, underscores a shared commitment to empowering sports administrators.

By equipping them with essential tools, contemporary knowledge, and best practices, the course seeks to foster sustainable development and cultivate excellence within their respective organisations.

This particular edition of the SAC holds special relevance as it is strategically targeted at Directors of Sports, Sports Officers, HODs (Sports), Sports Marketers, and Games Masters who are integral stakeholders within the Sunshine School community in Ibadan.

Recognising the diverse learning preferences and logistical considerations of participants, the programme will be delivered through a blended approach, incorporating both engaging onsite sessions and convenient virtual modules.

Guiding the learning journey will be two distinguished IOC-certified National Course Directors—the experienced Mr Nweri Emmanuel and the accomplished Dr. (Mrs.) Esther Oluwatoyin Aluko.

They will be ably supported by Deborah Chidobi, the dedicated Project Officer for this initiative, alongside a distinguished panel of speakers. Among these esteemed individuals is Prof. Fasan Clement, the insightful Programme Director at the Nigerian Olympic Committee, whose expertise will undoubtedly enrich the learning experience.

Expressing his strong support for this collaborative endeavour, the President of the Nigerian Olympic Committee, Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel will declare the course open.
