Governor Siminalayi Fubara has charged Corps Members to repay the trust Nigerians reposed in them by contributing their quota meaningfully to the success of 2027 general election in particular and nation-building at large.
Fubara stated this at the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai LGA when he addressed the 2026 Batch C stream II Corps Members and declared their orientation course open.
The governor represented by the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Promise Oguzie also assured the corps members of his administration’s commitment to prioritise their security and welfare at all times.

“You should reciprocate the love, support and goodwill of Rivers people by working tirelessly and selfless to leave the state better than you met it.”
The Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe informed the governor that this set of corps members is the largest number ever sent to the state.
“This is due to the appealing and appetising welfare packages dangled before corps members serving in the state by the government.
“Accommodation facilities are overwhelmingly overstretched and I appeal for urgent action to mobilise contractors to site on the approved 1000-capacity hostel each for male and female corps members.
“This is to ease the accommodation challenges faced in the camp.”

Oleghe reminded the corps members of the need to uphold high moral values, neutrality, patriotism, integrity, honesty and transparency” when working as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ad-hoc during the 2027 general elections.
“This will strengthen the nation’s democracy and enthrone credible leadership across board.”
A total of 4, 485 corps members were deployed to Rivers State and were sworn in by Justice Victor Ugorji who represented the Chief Judge of the state.
