Fidelity Bank Plc has improved learning and living conditions for children at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos, through its employee-driven corporate social responsibility programme.
The bank carried out the intervention under its Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP), which allows employees to identify community needs, raise funds and receive matching support from the bank.
The Audacious Class of newly inducted employees led the project after identifying urgent needs at the orphanage.
Bank Renovates Facility, Pays School Fees
The team replaced damaged roofing and POP ceilings, fumigated the orphanage, supplied food items and paid school fees for some of the children. The intervention aimed to improve the children’s safety, welfare and access to education.
Speaking during the outreach, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head of Brand and Communications, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the programme empowers employees to support causes that matter in their communities.
He said the Audacious Class assessed the orphanage’s needs before carrying out the renovation, food donation and education support.
Nwagboh said the project reflects the bank’s commitment to creating lasting value in communities. He added that the children now have a safer environment, reliable food supplies and the assurance that their education will continue.
