Awka, July 17, 2024 – Rev. Agoziem Isreal Okafor, an Anglican Priest of Nnewi Diocese, Anambra state, has resigned his priestly ordination following posting to less lucrative parish.

The priest after resignation from Anglican Church, opened his own Church in Nnewi.

Consequently, the Anglican Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Chukwuka Ndubuisi Obi, has withdrawn Okafor’s Ordination License.

It was learnt that Okafor, who is one of the fiery preachers of the diocese, resigned due to irreconcilable differences with the bishop.

The priest who was in charge of Church of Pentecost, Obiuno Otolo Nnewi, was said to have been transferred by the Bishop to Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Convent Oraifite, a neighbouring town to become the Chaplain of the institution.

It was further learnt that the priest submitted his letter of resignation shortly after he arrived at the new station.

Meanwhile, the Bishop Obi has announced that the priest has been dismissed as a priest of the Anglican Church.

He warned members of the church who might want to do business with the priest to be aware that Okafor is no longer a priest accountable to the Diocese and the Anglican Church.

However, the information filtering around indicates that Okafor has opened a Ministry “The Grace Family Ministry”, and has rented a space at Umuezemeko Event Centre Ezekwuabor, Otolo Nnewi.
