Mourinho Nears Shock Madrid Comeback
The Portuguese manager José Mourinho has agreed key terms with Real Madrid, with only official paperwork left to complete the deal.
However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on X on Monday that both sides have already reached a verbal agreement. He said Mourinho is expected to sign an initial two-year contract.
Meanwhile, the former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach will travel to Madrid after Real Madrid’s match against Athletic Bilbao to finalise the move.
Mourinho’s First Spell at Real Madrid
José Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013 in his first spell at the club.
During that period, he led Los Blancos to the 2011-12 La Liga title with a record 100 points. He also won the 2010-11 Copa del Rey.
Furthermore, Mourinho guided the Spanish giants to three consecutive UEFA Champions League semi-finals before leaving in 2013 for a return to Chelsea.
Legacy of “The Special One”
Nicknamed “The Special One,” Mourinho built a strong reputation at the Santiago Bernabéu with his competitive style and tactical discipline.
Consequently, his return marks one of the most anticipated managerial comebacks in European football in recent years.
