Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, on Monday joined protesters at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja to express concerns over the proposed INEC Electoral Reform Bill.

Addressing the crowd, Obi urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct elections in a transparent and credible manner, with particular emphasis on the electronic transmission of results.

He called on the electoral body to allow the process to run without interference, noting that Nigerians are only asking for fairness and clarity. According to him, once elections are conducted according to the rules, the outcome should be accepted by all parties.

“Let elections follow the normal process. Whoever wins, we will accept the result. The process should be simple and transparent. Why create confusion where none is needed?” Obi said.

He stressed that the demand of Nigerians is not excessive but basic — a free, fair and transparent electoral system. Obi added that when due process is followed, the credibility of the election is assured and the result will command public trust.

Nigerians are shocked by this statement, while many aplaud Mr Peter Obi for his unique take towards Nigerian politics, another section of Nigerians feel he dosent have what is takes to win the elections, his somewhats soft and calm aproach might be what will cause his downfall many Nigerians fear.

Nigerians feel Obi needs to be more violent and agressive towards his ambitions rather than just relying on fate, in this case the violent will take it by force and Obi is not violent enough to challenege the system.

Nigerians are all in anticipation towrds the on coming elections in 2027 and will watch events unfold.
