“Use NYSC skills acquisition programme for economic emancipation” – Fubara

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – Gov. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state says the NYSC skills acquisition training undertaken in camp will enable corps members build their capacities for economic emancipation.

Fubara said this on Wednesday while closing the 2025 Batch B Stream II orientation exercise in the State.

The governor, represented by the newly-sworn-in Secretary to the State Government and Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Benibo Anabraba,, enjoined the corps members to embrace skills acquisition wholeheartedly “to make you wealth creators and employers of labour”.

“You should see your mobilisation into the NYSC scheme as a fundamental call to assist people of your host communities overcome their challenges by executing viable CDS projects.”

He advised them to always remember that they owe themselves, their families and the nation, the responsibilities to serve with integrity, honour, dignity, commitment and dedication to duty.

The State Coordinator, NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, passionately appealed to the corps members to use the unique opportunity of the service year to discover their true purposes.

“I encourage you to go into the communities across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state, to embody selfless service, empathy, compassion, and patriotism in serving the people,’.

The colourful closing ceremony featured a vibrant, scintillating and exciting parade witnessed by a number of top dignitaries.
